Larry Aylward, a 12-year golf industry editorial veteran, has agreed to join
Moose River Media as editorial director of
Superintendent magazine and affiliated brand extensions. Mr. Aylward will officially assume the position on Nov. 29.
Mr. Aylward will have overall responsibility for the magazine's editorial direction, which places a special emphasis on technology and new products, as well as its content and design. Superintendent's editor, Brooke Rockwell, will continue in her current role and will report to Aylward. Ms. Rockwell has been a staff member of Superintendent since it launched as a standalone publication in 2003.
Superintendent is the industry's fastest-growing magazine serving golf course maintenance professionals. According to IMS, advertising pages have increased 25 percent through September 2010 versus last year and it leads all competitors in market share gains.
Mr. Aylward brings to Moose River Media extensive business-to-business and consumer media experience. In addition to covering the golf industry for more than a decade, Mr. Aylward also worked at business publications in the food and automotive industries. He was also a sports writer, covering golf on the professional and amateur levels. Aylward earned a degree in mass media-journalism from the University of Akron.
